Enlisted in the Ohio National Guard in 1980, went into Army ROTC at The Ohio State University in 1982, commissioned as an Armor officer in 1984. Active duty from '84 to '93. Army Reserve from 1993 to 2012.
Deployed to Bosnia in 2000 and Kuwait 2005. Retired from Army Reserve in 2012.
