Bio

I started in the Army Reserves as a medic in 1993. Honorably discharged in 2001. Re-joined in 2004 active duty as a forward observer. Honorably discharged again in 2007. I have been a volunteer firefighter since 1994 and have worked professionally as an EMT, a 911 dispatcher, and a safety specialist. I am now a fire protection systems specialist at DuPont.

Military Experiences

Nov 2005 - Nov 2006
HHT
Fire Support NCO
I was in charge of fire support operations on night shift in the Battalion TOC. I monitored radar feeds for incoming fire to the base and conducted counter-fire operations against hostile acts.
2005
HHC
Targeting NCO
I was in charge of the HHC Fire Support Element whenever the platoon Sgt wasn't present. I oversaw targeting operations during training exercises on night shift in the Battalion TOC. Conducted training in the GuardFIST for forward observers.
Jun 1994 - Apr 1996
8th MED BDE
Orthopedic technician
Attended MUTAs and attempted to learn and train in the pre-9/11 Army Reserves. I got my EMT certification and ran on the ambulance at home, but never did anything medical for the USAR from the time I completed active duty training until my transfer into IRR.

Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
I monitored radar feeds for incoming fire and conducted counter-fire operations as necessary. Was initially assigned to 1-15 FA and attached to 2-72 Armor as a Fire Support Station Operator on a B-FIST crew. Was later assigned to 2-9 Infantry and served as Targeting NCO. Earned 2 Army Achievement Medals during my time in Korea.
