My mentors have always told me, "Do the best at whatever your job at hand is. Don't complain. Don't worry about title or status. As long as you perform, you will be recognized and rise to the top."
I am undecided on staying in or leaving the military. I do have a long-term plan for both contingencies but am focused on getting an opportunity to command a battery first.
