Joined the Alabama National Guard out of hs, went to boot at Ft Jackson and Radio School at Ft Gordon. Wanted to go active duty, so I joined the Corps, went to Marine boot at Parris Island and Infantry School at Camp Lejeune. Qualified for Sea Duty, went to Sea School at MCRD San Diego and served 2 years in the MarDet USS Long beach. Finished up with 3/2, Weapons Company, Antitank platoon.
