I had a retirement date and was 95 days away from terminal when I earned a line number for Chief. I am looking forward to using my new rank to assist the ATCALS community and make our corner of the Air Force better. My first boss told me promotions do not equal power for yourself, they equal power to help those who did all the work to get you the promotion. So don't screw it up!!!
