M60A3 tank gunner, MOSQ'd through OJT and tank gunnery school -- honor grad. NY ARNG. After break in service, came back into the same company, then B Co. 101 CAV, as a 19E M1-series tank crew member, before getting commissioned. Did not complete MOSQ, sadly.

One of the best grades I earned as a freshman engineer at Cornell was in Naval Ship Engineering -- did better elsewhere as a German language/lit major, and after a tour in the Regular Army in signals intelligence, in law school.

Deployed as the legal planner, responsible for the Rules of Engagement Annex to the division op order; also provide input to operations supporting the new Iraqi government, especially elections. Mid-tour transitioned to acting chief of administrative law, prepared reports of investigation into all manner of things.
