Served in VS-37 as Training Officer, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer, deploying to the Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf aboard USS Independence (CV 62) during Operation Desert Shield. Served as Special Assistant for Aviation to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Installations and Environment). Served as Executive Officer of VS-37, deploying to the Western Pacific aboard Kitty Hawk. Assumed command of VS-29 and completed an Arabian Gulf deployment aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Served as Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. Served as Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense (Policy).
