Sylvester Jones began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the Markham Police Department in Markham, Ill. He served in this capacity for four years before joining the United States Marshals Service as a Deputy U.S. Marshal in 1987. He worked in the Chicago office of the Northern District of Illinois, the Districts of the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the Northern District of Georgia before his selection as Assistant Director.
