Always wanted to be in the service. Tried to join when I was 19 but it would have meant giving up custody of my son and that wasn't happening. Fast forward to 9/11. I found out shortly after that I still had a chance to join. By this time I am 33 years old & mom to 4 boys. Couldn't go Reserves or Guard because of dependents. Went active duty. Had to work hard to pass MEPS. But I did it.
