Supervised and planned unit buoy operations, and Coxswain of a CG 46' BUSL (Boat, Utility, Stern Loader). Maintained buoys, lighted/unlighted CG Aids to Navigation structures, including lighthouses.

Quartermaster (Navigator)
Assisted with navigating the ship from Point A to Point B without hitting something. Conducted patrols from the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, US West Coast and farther South into Mexican and other Central American Countries International waters; Main duties were drug interdiction, alien human smuggling interdiction, Search and Rescue. Aug-November '94: Took the USCGC Resolute south, through the Panama Canal, and up the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore, MD, and swapped the Resolute for another Medium Endurance Cutter that had been completely re-habbed via the FRAM Program. Returned to Astoria, OR with the USCGC Alert.

Vessel navigation, boat crew, Boarding Officer and Boarding Party member. Qualified expert Colt M16 A2, Colt M1911 A1 .45cal, Beretta M9 9mm, Reminington M870 Shotgun, and in my mind I rocked the Browning .50cal whenever the Gunner's Mates allowed me to honor it whilst in their presence!
