Born 2 days before dirt, grew up a USAF brat. Lived in OH, MA, Germany, ND, NC, GA, TX, IL, CA, SC, VA, MD. Went to HS in Valdosta, GA. Graduated 1973, joined military. Met wife in Jr High, been together ever since. Got CDL and driving big trucks since about 94, 1 Million Mile Safe Driving Apr, 02, 2012.

Responsible for launch, recovery and maintaining readiness for alert at Travis AFB as well as Malmstrom AFB in Montana.

Deployed to Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Storm. Inchop Bahrain, patrol offshore, mine detection, interdiction duty. Transited Suez Canal, Upon relief in gulf proceeded west for exercise with pacific fleet Destroyer. Transited Panama Canal into Pacific ocean for towing exercise. At conclusion of exercise had port visit Rodman, Panama. Transited back through Panama Canal proceeded north twd Chasn, hurricane inbound Chasn, port visit Gitmo, Cuba. In transit home steam pipe burst (600 deg). Hometown buddy killed instantly.

USS John Rodgers DD-983
Deployed to Med, maintain comms for ship as well as COMDESRON 22. Insure that crypto was updated as per underway comm plan. During battle stations man port side flying bridge .50 cal, protecting port side against suicide bombers. Upon relief outchopped Rota, Spain and headed west then north to the Artic Circle for Battle Group exercise. Rough seas near circle, turned away 4 times as seas reaching 50 foot. Finally into the circle for exercise. Upon return to Chasn hit rogue 35 foot wave that split Sonar dome, headed to Philadelphia shipyards for repairs.

SVC Crayfish TWR-682
3 years onboard, spent approx 8 months a year deployed on short local missions as well as underway for various hurricanes. Russian AGI would wait offshore for us to show and then shadow us till return. Upon return transited Cooper river to Chasn Naval Weapons Sta to offload weapons. While onboard qual'd as Section Watch Leader, Pubs clerk, Supply PO, Lookout river/open ocean, Helm river/open ocean, Shark Watch, Swimmer.
