Started out in Personnel (732x0) & stationed at Lackland AFB (71-75) & Chanute AFB (75-77), retrained in 77 to Disaster Preparedness (242x0) Chanute AFB (77-78) Osan AB (78-79) Sheppard AFB (79-81), received commission in 82 and went into Titan II Missiles at Little Rock AFB (82-86). 1986 back in Disaster Prep as an Officer at Carswell AFB (86-88) then Hahn AB (88-91). Cmd Post OIC Reese AFB 92.

Disaster Preparedness Specialist
Taught many of the various classes (CWD, Shelter Management, Unit Disaster Preparedness Representative class, etc.); responded to exercises and real life emergencies, i.e. plane accidents; conducted unit Staff Assistance Visits to the many units on base regarding their unit DP program and other duties as assigned. While there, took night classes and received my Associates Degree thru CCAF and my Bachelors Degree thru Wayland Baptist University. Applied for a commission thru OTS and was accepted. Began officer training in Nov 1980.

Disaster Preparedness Specialist
Was the primary CWD instructor, to taught CWD classes 4 days a week. Would get with various intell agencies so I could give accurate data on what might be expected if North Korea were to attack South Korea and American forces. Also taught classes to aumentees who would help office members during wargames, higher headquarters inspections and various accidents/incidents. Would also help conduct unit inspections and go to various radar sites and conduct training.

As a Disaster Preparedness Tech, taught Chemical Warfare Defense (CWD) classes, various Emergency Mgmt classes such as Shelter Mgmt, Unit Rep classes, etc. Also responded to various emergencies such as off-base aircraft accident involving a Indiana National Guard aircraft.

Worked in the Consolidated Base Personnel Office (CBPO) in the Classification and Training office. I was responsible for setting up boards to select Officers and NCO's to attend the various military schools (SOS, NCO Academy, etc). I woud also help type up retraining papers if the individual responsible was busy or away(leaveTDY).
