We're going to be using the system to make our assignment requests for our PCS next summer/fall. It looks as though they use the resume portion of the module quite a bit to help guide the receiving unit's with the selection process. The character limit on the site isn't very big. Any tips on creating a succinct resume that makes you stand out amongst your peers?

It is and always will be about Networking. If you have a unit in mind you need to contact their S-1 and get a meeting with the Boss. I'd go for a By Name Request over a submission to a request to HRC any day.

Good idea, Sir. I'll reach out to the POC tomorrow. At the very least I can get me name out there before a dozen other requests come in.

CPT (Join to see) - I'd recommend that you send with your request documentation on your performance, such as your ORB and a note on your background and why you want to be in the unit.

So far it seems to be unnecessary, why do I need an resume if my ORB is properly edited and updated?

My AIM just closed. 2nd time using it for assignment lists. First time there was no push to have resume completed...nor was there much unit interaction. This time...they wanted the resume updated and completed and I can see that most units are actually giving thumbs up/down and if they show interest in you. It took me awhile to get my resume/profile into the strong category...almost had to fill in info in every tab in order to make that happen.

Recommend being upfront in what type of assignment you are looking for in your resume and cover any experience that is not captured on your ORB.

Thanks, Sir! Our window closes on 20 Dec. Between more than a decade on enlisted service and some good civilian experience during my break in service I think I can make myself stand out amongst my peer group. Our list of potential assignments wasn't great so there's going to be a lot of competition for a couple of spots.
