The "CAX Completion Date" is listed in the "Reserve Component Only" section right next to the Mandatory Retirement Date, in case the context helps.

I realize I'm digging up a 2-year old question but I just saw the same thing and can't find any reference elsewhere. Did you ever find an answer upon attending the course?

Talk about digging up an old question (referencing myself).

For the Army, CAX refers to the Combined Arms Exercise course (called the same thing as the Corps' course).

CAX was a temporary MEL3 qualifying course that was stood-up between the period where CAS3 went away and the MEL3 education was fully incorporated into the Captains Career Course (well, at least on paper - the general consensus is that the incorporation was a shadow of what CAS3 was).

There were only a few year groups from the late 80s/early 90s that were affected and went through CAX.

The only CAX I'm aware of is the Combined Arms eXercise (Marines aren't great at creating acronyms)...

In the Corps its meaning is 'Combined Arms Exercise' as SFC Hasbun has pointed out. Thats the only time I've heard the acronym used.
