Since it never went away, it will be here to stay. Not liking the idea of having to wear it?

I work with the military (Army mostly) and I believe even when I was in the hard stripes get more respect, don’t jump in me. All I’m saying is when I was wearing E-5 The attitude of some people have changed. I watch as people look at Corpl‘s instead of specialists and there’s just a little bit more respect there and the lower ranking listen more.
I never understood why they had sec four spec five and someone anyway.

It never went away, it just wasn't common outside of combat arms units. Previously it was up to commanders to select who would be pinned Corporal, now the Army dictates who will be pinned corporal and when

Also, place for busted SGTs to go, FA gun bunnies, etc. Had a CPL DS in basic that was a busted SGT.

There is just one thing that you can be sure of in the military, you can't be sure of anything. These things have a tendency to change most of the time in conjunction with "Change of Command Ceremonies." New SecDef, policy changes come rolling out. You never can tell.

CW3 Barton Benson - ...in my day that would be true. Nowadays, I'm not so sure. With all the transformational WOKE policies being shoved down the throats of our military in stead of ensuring that they are trained and prepared to defend this country on at least two fronts at once. I believe that the command elements at the highest echelons are totally screwed up and nothing good will come from that. "That," is definitely not the right way.

And there truly is a need for a change of command! They have turned the military, all branches into a cream puff fighting outfit. Next, you will have a transthing next to you wanting to wear a pink tutu in the @#$%. And the leaders today will permit it just so they can stay relevant. It has become a shame!

CPL Gilbert Fernandez - I was completely happy with "Don't ask don't tell," for over twenty years. It worked for every body. We haven't heard the last of this yet.
