A good friend of mine COL (R) Robert Spidel was saved by this Warrant Officer. Ray was the PC of a UH1 that crashed near Darmstadt Germany. Aircraft on fire, Ray was able to autorotate in the middle of a mountainous forest clearing, everyone walked away. Does anyone know him? Is he still with us?
