one of my peer’s soldiers had gone to to our 1SG and had Used the open door policy and reported my peer for abusing his rank ( all the type of toxic leadership trait you can imagine) he was given a letter of concern and his rank is possibly be reduced back to SPC. When these things happen to an NCO what in reality happens to them? As far as the possibility of rank reduction

It's all going to depend on the Commander and what was found during the investigation. He will either receive a reduction and a bad NCOER or not receive a reduction and receive a bad NCOER. Evidence depending.

Since he's an E-5 and if they decide to bust him back down, it'll have to be at minimum a Field Grade article 15, which means he'll likely stand in front of the Battalion Commander for the punishment. With that on top of what then would also be a bad NCOER, there will likely be many more struggles and a much tougher career path ahead for your peer once all is said and done.

The letter is a warning of pending investigation. If found that is true, the Co can reduce via UCMJ (Art 15).If it is true why would they want him/her as an NCO?
