Hi SGT Shatesky, I'm not too sure who you are trying to reach and which outfit but I was based there for first tour. I was in on building Camp Bearcat for the 93rd Eng. Bat. attached to the 9th Inf. Div. outside of Ben Hoa, just a couple miles from Long Binh. The day I landed there was the day they kicked off the 1968 Tet Offensive, the ammo dump at Long Binh got blown up that night. I spent a few tours over there, different times though. My basic MOS was combat engineer but my other training took me all over but before I went TDY they brought us a unique piece of equipment from N. Africa called a 96 ton tree crusher. Anyway, I can fill you in with some history but it sounds like you were in the other Eng. Bat. located in that area. Most importantly tho, Welcome Home Brother.
