The Army should ditch secondary zones for E-5 and E-6. The Army could definitely take notes from the Marine’s promotion restructuring.
Constantly I see immature SGT and SSG, with know it all attitudes and unprofessional mouths throughout the Army. Longer TIS and TIG could control the “check the block” attitudes.

The Army has secondary zones to allow the Soldiers who commanders deem ahead of their peers to be promoted ahead of their peers.
As for the Marines revamping, they’re already an extremely slow promoting branch and frequently fill their positions with personnel below the designated rank because of the slow promotions

If someone is a quick learner and can apply effective leadership, why not let them grow. Some people catch on faster than others. Toxic leadership will continue to fester in an uncontrolled environment, no amount of time will fix that.
