Brothers and sisters of RallyPoint I need your help in research I am conducting for my graduation thesis. I need OEF/OIF service members and veterans between the ages of 18 and 45 to answer a short questionnaire about memory loss and cognitive impairment.
A lot of my research into TBI and PTSD has yielded mixed results regarding the long term effects on the brain. One case study on the effects of blast exposure has lead me to believe that the VA and DOD may be under diagnosing TBI in service members and veterans.
By completeing this survey, you may be contributing to data I hope to present to the VA for further study. I appreciate all of your support and ask that you share this with anyone you know who is an OEF/OIF veteran between the ages of 18-45.

I have been diagnosed with ptsd, TBI related to long-term exposure to concussion blast during training mission. My deployment during Iraq desert storm was later linked to this 20 years later

It is amazing how the symptoms of TBI and PTSD are known to be similar yet TBI remains largely overlooked. What is sad is that there are no SOPs about getting pre and post deployment base lines of soldier cognitive functions, and even more disconcerting that TBI causes the brain to continue to degrade with time, much like that of the football players diagnosed with C.T.E.
