To be honest Afghanistan we profit nothing from it that's why it's driving our nation mad because we are pouring all this money into Afghanistan without any return so the pragmatist in Congress are definitely raising all sorts of Hell trying to say what are we really gaining from this.

I wondered from the very beginning, PFC (Join to see). Osama bin Laden was in Pakistan, so why bother Iraq or Afghanistan?

Capt Dwayne Conyers - that's why you have CIA doing some messed up stuff to try make a little off to the side so they money to use for operations. Iraq we are getting pay out especially for ensuring oil flow security in their country because we don't get the Iraqi Oil our oil cones largely from Kuwait in the region with just over half of our imported oil coming from South America and the Pacific.

Profit mostly. There is no "END GAME". Just like Vietnam. We can win the battles but can not win the war as there is no way to win. Bush declared it won years ago.

Meanwhile, we spend billions fighting there instead of *diplomatically* finding ways to deal with them for the minerals, making us and them wealth. Or, do we want to treat them like Africa and strip their resources, leaving them poor and decrepit?

Maybe it is time we gave Congress a vest and an M-16. You want us to die, come and tell us WHY?

We call it nation building they call it occupation regardless economic stability is a derivative of the governments stability. As such until the country forgoes its fighting season I don't see mining as being a viable economic endeavor. Once word gets out you're digging up money from the ground there will be bandits at the gates.
