I think that Anderson Cooper and LTC Peters missed the real weakness in the tweet.
The real weakness is that there is little or nothing the US can do to impact the Turkish economy, much less destroy it. Now while economic power is Trump's preferred method to influence the behavior of other nations, it will not work in the case of Turkey. Neither are we going to shoot at A NATO ally's forces if they do come over the berm.
The Realpolitik here is that our options are limited here, and with that being the case, playing out the string with a small force just doesn't make much sense.
