I watched this debate from start to finish, and I have a few thoughts - some of which disagree with the article.
1. Biden was a mess, stuttering, mixing his words, pivoting mid-thought to stuff that made no sense... Many of his answers sounded like he was reading from some kind of liberal magnetic poetry kit (remember those). He is, sad to say, senile and not up to the task anymore.
2. Warren did ok, and is clearly an able debater. But both Mayor Pete and Klobuchar got the better of her when she kept parroting her talking points evading how her Medicare-for-all plan will be paid for. Never mind all of the other hugely expensive proposals she has.
3. Bernie was organized and did well. He largely told the truth about funding his equally expensive proposals - and that will be his undoing.
4. Mayor Pete had the best performance in my view. He owned his proposals and contrasted them well with his rivals.
5. Klobuchar also did well, but she came off a bit desperate. She stands to benefit (if she survives long enough) from Biden's inevitable collapse,.
6. Yang is also an intriguing candidate who is disciplined and on message. I think he is wrong in his solutions, but not in his analysis of the problems facing the country. I hope he sticks around for a while.
7. The others up there were starved for time, and that is too bad. They really couldn't make much of an impression.

Kamala is in big trouble. She has money, but looks like she is running out of ideas that capture attention.
Tulsi is toast. Her visit to Assad a couple years ago, given current events, will be her death knell.
Steyer was an empty suit with only two issues, one of which wasn't discussed. Climate change and impeachment. That's all he's got.
Castro - yawn. Done.
Beto - LOL. Still sucks as a debater. I mean really, REALLY sucks as a debater. He's done.
