I couldn't finish the video. It was interesting but too conspiratorial.
The reporter and retired COL. kept stating that the FBI,CIA, and DoD were institutions that published false information and then flashed articles by "unquestionably truthful" sources like the Washington Post and Guardian.
Also, too much time hating on the military. The military doesn't approve war or appropriate funds, that is done by elected civilians. However, if we talk about that then we have to agree the left is as complicit as the right and that's just not cool...sure it's all the military and the industrial complex.
Last, one of my favorite elitist points of view - the military is full of all these people who "can't find careers" anywhere else or joined because it was their only option in life. That's ridiculous and false. To insinuate that people are bribed to join and then overpaid for the work they do....well that is the silliest part of the whole piece. I'd gladely offer that reporter an E5's pay to spend a year away in Iraq and then ask her if she felt overpaid.

GySgt John Olson Thanks for fact checking my statement. However, I didn't start my third paragraph with the video said..., but rather with the statement, "one of my favorite elitist points of view." I am stating that I felt this video shared a perspective with an elitist point of view I've read in other articles that people joining the military are doing it because they are desperate and out of options, this video is insinuating the same. I disagree with this statement.
A young person out of high school doesn't have very many career options and he/she is unskilled because he/she is fresh out of high school. They are unskilled whether going into the military, construction, or manufacturing because they just finished high school not because they lack options. However, many military officers, enlisted who join after college, or enlisted who join after having another career do have options. If the military was such a great place for unskilled people to be make more than they would otherwise, then I assume more than 1% of the population would jump on the military gravy train. I contend that a large portion of the military joins out of a sense of duty and not desperation.
Also, saying someone is "overpaid" based on the statement, "couldn't make otherwise" is an inference. If the military is paying someone 50K and the civilian market does not value that service member's intellect and skill the same, then the military may be overpaying that person.
I am also not sure what type of biased your speaking of, but regardless, have a good day and enjoy the rest of the holidays!

Pure bull excrement wrapped in a fine layer of horse crap. I quit watching when he talked about the 1%. This so called "established" inherited wealth that runs the country,LOL Back in the late 1960's there was a book called "The Rich and the Super Rich". The book was the garbage about the 1% controlling all the wealth etc. The problem is that one percent keep changing. In the 1960's Warren Buffet was starting out, Sam Walton was working hard, Bill Gates wasn't around etc. I read an article about an article in "Harper's " magazine (published in 1899) that talked about the Rich and powerful in the 20th century to watch. By the end of the depression all the to watch been wiped out. Gloria Vanderbuilt (the Vanderbuilt family owned 25% of the total wealth in America). Where does Mark Cubing, Damon Johns, Ophta Winfre fit in? The problem is government regs screw over people starting businesses . The founders of Home Depot say they couldn't do it today. Home Depot created over 1000 millionaires, many employees of the company.
