CW2 Stacy Sheard This is terrific advice. What would you say is the biggest challenge for military pilots moving into the civilian sector?

Hi Brandon,
That's really not an easy question - there are many challenges, and it all depends on the person. I can tell you that the biggest issues that give us a bad name in the civil helicopter industry are: lack of humility, ego, resistance to learning different ways of doing things (they think they know best).
I cannot tell military folks enough - Be Humble. Receive Advice. Accept Change. Your willingness & good attitude in embracing your new environment will take you far.

CW2 Stacy Sheard Really great feedback here. I think you hit on the same issues that face many service members going into the civilian workforce. We go from these tremendous missions and leading dozens or hundreds of troops, to a much less stressful and sometimes less challenging work environment. It can be very easy to subconsciously belittle this environment or the work involved. Couldn't say it better: "Be Humble. Receive Advice. Accept Change."
