Thanks for reminding us about Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket” SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. To be honest The Deer Hunter movie with its depiction of home and warlife and teh back and forth impacted me much more that Full Metal Jacket.
As far as the greatest war movie is concerned "All Quiet on the Western Front" is from 1930; but, it is still the best war movie and anti-war movie of all time.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Thank you, Joe!!! The movie would be extra outstanding; as he was a real Marine drill instructor- for one thing.
