She wasn't trying to take credit for the vaccines, she was trying to give credit where it's due, the pharma companies, one of which developed its vaccine in Germany, with no help from 'warp speed's. The only delusional one here is you.

Warp Speed changed the regulatory conditions and vastly shortened the approval process, relieved drug companies of civil liability, provided seed capital to some companies, but most of all enabled approval in a much shorter span of time. Pfizer for example already had a vaccine in January, and it wouldn't have hit the market for another three or four years, but because of Warp Speed millions are vaccinated. It is true the vaccines developed overseas weren't funded by Warp Speed, but the regulatory process for approval here in the U.S. applies to all, so in fact Warp Speed is responsible for vaccine availability. Trump did that.

SGT Edward Wilcox - I saw the mayor of New York praise Trump for the support they received. I saw Newsome do the same in respect to CA. Nobody in the U.S. was denied a ventilator that needed one because one of the things Trump did was use the war production act and provided funds to get ventilator production up and running. In fact, we had excess and some of that was shared with other countries. Regarding the issue on the masks, why does the federal government have to mandate them for people to use them? Why is it that the government is the only ones responsible for imposing a solution and that individuals don't have the wherewithal to protect themselves? Oh, yeah, and the whole not coordinating responses, he opened the national strategic stockpile, directed the two hospital ships to New York and to Los Angeles, built military field hospitals where the need was greatest, and the list goes on. Face it, just because you disagree with his style, his policies, and you would vote for the other guy; there is no reason why you can't acknowledge the good he has done. That is what an adult would do.

SGT Edward Wilcox - You talk about mandating mask use, and yet overlook the fact that Biden has yet to do that, at all.

I think most politicians take credit for things they didn't do. I also think that there is more than one single aspect to anything in life. For example, Warp Speed did change the regulatory conditions, and some funding was provided for seed capital so it took much of the financial risk out of the R&D. And that aspect of Warp Speed did in fact spur the rapid development and approval process of the vaccines. Because the regulatory conditions were changed, approval for vaccine developed in Europe were able to be approved under the emergency use authorization at a much faster pace than the normal approval pipeline which could take years. I think when the media heard we'd have a vaccine in terms of months instead of years, and they assumed the normal approval pipeline would be used, they laughed it out of the room. But, Trump having directed the regulatory conditions be changed to facilitate rapid approval had the last laugh. Thank you President Trump for straightening out the process. It will save many lives.
