Interesting Poll Results on how the military can stop active shooter threats.

I've gone back and reviewed the results of the poll (now that you can see somewhat of a break down now); and being a Veteran I wanted to see how the reaction between those of us that transitioned out compared to those of you that are still serving and the results (pictured below) provoke some though.
A total of 30 Veterans voted in the poll between 3 April and 11 April. 50% of those selected "Improve mental health services and early warning screenings. At the same time, 99 Service Members voted during the same time span and 63% of those that answered feel that allowing Service Members to be armed while on duty would be the best way for the military to reduce active shooter threats.
So my question is why do you think there is such a difference in the answers between the two groups?

Vets and AD members think a little differently. Interesting Indeed
I would say it has a lot to do with how many of our veterans feel after they get out. Many of us have more time for introspection and self reflection of our problems once we are out of the busy operational environment of the military.
