Yes, I'd also add our adherence to LOAC in spite of our enemies operating without such principles.

I think it's more than just that - many nations have all-volunteer forces as well, but they are not necessarily ranked as one of the most respected among government institutions.
One thing that stands out about the US Military is its intentional separation from the drama & politics in Washington. In other countries, this is not the case; elsewhere, the military might act as an arm of executive power and overreach, which is prime manpower for regimes with dictatorial intentions.
