MAJ (Join to see) - Lots of bureaucracy with the 1911s. A double NICS check, when placing the order, and again when picking up from the required FFL dealer used to ship the .45.
In my state (New Jersey), I will need a "Permit to Purchase" as well. Probably the same type of hassle in CA, MD, MA, etc. (the usual oppressor states).

Yeah the double NCIC check is a little much for a 50 year old pistol that holds 8 rounds...

The CMP is very different from the DCM run by the US Army. The CMP is now a "for profit" corporation.

No. I am on the CMP distro and they said it will be approx 90 days from when they receive the 1911's until they are ready to process the orders...
