When the 10th was reactivated I had to go to Drum to assist with the setup of the Divisional Calibration Facility. My favorite part of that TDY trip was weekend nights in that little town about half hour across the border and slightly west. There was a Canadian Army Barracks close by also that got used as a Hostel more than once.

The 87th Mountain Infantry Regiment was my dad's WW2 unit. It was the nucleus of the 10th Mt. Div. and was one of the few units to fight in both the Pacific and the European campaigns.

Wow! A little fun fact about one of the original 10th Mountain Division Soldiers. Bill Bowerman, who teamed up with Phil Knight who started a little company called Blue Ribbon Sports, which would later become a little company called Nike.
