The nice thing about the digital age is it makes it harder for politicians to dodge the truth & hide their votes that impact our lives.

I wish that was true. Hillary flip-flopped in less than a week on what our stance should be in regards to ISIS...Not our issue Tuesday, we must wipe them out Thursday...and yet that will never be considered by the average voter come next November.

Politicians will say it to your face, then deny they said it to your face, to your face.:-)

When Paris style attack happen here ... monthly ... it is properly too late ... and we will pretty sure start losing our constitutional right in a super fast rate. Think carefully and tread carefully, don't let emotion take hold of you, calm down and think. We can no longer accept refugees with open door, either security or economically, but we still can do it in a smaller well controlled amount. Go through faith base organization, I pretty sure they will chip into help.

This refugees issue is far more that just helping "them". We must consider saving ourselves first. This is like the first rule of all rules, make sure yourself is safe first.

But we are still missing the point ... destroying ISIS/ISIL is THE point.

More votes for whom? The person denying them refugee status, the person advocating for them, or the refugees themselves ( if it's the refugees, it's irrelevant because they can't nor would they be able to vote in any election because they aren't eligible to do so).

SSG Michael Hartsfield - no, it is the emotional effect of the actual voters at the time.

For example: Due to the news media constant report of refugees dying, there is an emotional connection to the "viewer", the "viewer" translate into voters. That is what I mean.

The same thing happen on those that against the refugees, due to the terrorists attack in Paris are "refugees". That is also a emotional connection to the "news viewer". Thus they also translate into voters.

In many way, politician feed on emotion, all because general voters vote with emotion. :)

So what does that have to do with veterans getting shafted at every turn but being told that we are still valued members of the nation, that our sacrifice to the nation will never be forgotten, thus and so?

SSG Michael Hartsfield - It explain everything. it is emotional connection to the voters. Like I stated, no more than 2-3% served in the general population. That is part of the big reason why veterans get shafted, but the most important is there isn't a emotional connection to the general voters. So for politician, veterans are just not remotely close to the middle of their to do list. Even if there is a moment of voters screaming for Veterans, but such emotional connection will soon shifted into economy, terrorist, or even free stuff. :)

If there is a news media actually stay on the Veteran's suffering ... and a lot of people watch it. Then things will be different.
