17C MOS accepting applications again?
Hey everyone so according to the link, which was published today, they are accepting applications for the 17C MOS again. I know that they did it earlier in june, but i wasn't aware of this MOS at the time. I was wondering if this MOS accepts people from the national guard since i am currently majoring in computer science and i plan on doing cyber security for my civilian career. Has anyone gone to this school yet? I'm curious to as what they do and train on. What kind of skills do you think you need to be good at in order to do well at the 17C MOS school?

Contact the Cyber Proponent Branch on Fort Gordon. Almost of all the 17C's are assigned here to the Cyber Protection Brigade. MSG Washington would be a good POC. Keep in mind this MOS will be fat in the middle for a while and things like facilities and kits are still being built and set up.

Yes the National Guard is building a 17C force. If you have hacking or coding skills then you are what the Army is looking for. If you are looking to go active you will need to get a release from your unit and apply and be accepted.

The Army is not currently building a reserve component of the 17 series. I am active so I can't point you toward any POC

1LT (Join to see), get certified in several areas. I submitted 35 certs and picked up for the 17 series. I have a buddy who had a good 10 and got picked up... but key ones I had were CISSP, CEH, CCNP's and my buddy had CISSP, PMP, CEH, and a few others. Good luck.

To be honest i actually just found out about it today. Did some research and found out that they were receiving applications back in june. As i read about it some more it piqued my interest and now i really do want to reclass to this MOS. This would be a great way to boost my knowledge and do well in the civilian world.

I remember hearing about it when I was on deployment. I didn't do too much research on it and completly forgot about it until I read about it on army times
