War changes a person. That specter remains with you for the rest of your life. Family suffers an impact as well. Those struggles can trickle into other areas as well.

Burroughs This article is interesting,but likes some of the reality of being a Vietnam Veteran during the period.Among other things--"preferential hiring for veterans"-was a fallacy,during that era.Being a Vietnam Veteran was a mark against you when applying for employment in many instances,it wasn't PC.

AND THERE ARE THOSE VIET VETS WHO DID MUCH BETTER, FINANCIALLY, AFTER THE WAR, DUE TO THE ABILLITY TO EXERCISE THEIR LEADERSHIP PRACTIVES DURING THE WAR.
