I hope the Peshmerga captures all the 5 tons, ammo and ukranian donated tanks and uses them against ISIL. just think what the kurds would do with all that stuff and we would be assured they would not cut and run to the other side like the Iraqi army did in Mosul.
Kurdistan is no longer a safe place but when it gets its autonomy it will be the only place in Iraq that actually cares about the help the US did when they sent Kurds to live in the USA to get away from from Saddam's gas attacks in the 1970s. Later, in 2003, when we went back, the Kurds that were in the USA still kept in contact with the Kurds on the ground. I am not sure Iraq is our friend due to the influence of Iran but the Kurds, on the other hand, respect us with saving some of them and helping them out in 1977, 2003 and now in 2016.

Canada sent about 50 Special Forces last year to help out with targeting. 1 was killed and two wounded when they came back from a targeting mission and the Peshmerga didn't tell their soldiers on that shift that the Canadian were coming back. Here is the story:

I know a US SOF Master Sgt got killed from wounds fightin ISIL or Al Quaida by Al Hawija a few weeks ago. I was in Kirkuk 14 years ago as with the IDARNG. Al Hawija had a lot of Iraqi Army retirees and it was a troublesome town back then for U.s. forces.
