Ted Cruz just challenged Donald Trump to a one-on-one debate, since Trump said he won't be participating in the Fox debate. First, I think it's silly for Trump to refuse to debate. That says that you think that the rules don't apply to you, that you don't have to show up to the job interview. I would love to see a one-on-one debate between Cruz and Trump. Let them both put their best ideas forward and let the viewers decide. What is Trump avoiding?

No way Trump would dare go against Cruz in a one on one debate. Especially if the audience is conservative. Trump has neither the skills nor the comportment to even appear capable.

Trump has the debate skills and the comportment to win public opinion. Cruz, of course, is far better educated and equipped to argue things like the law -- but he's never made an executive decision in his life, and he's done nothing in the Senate, both of which Trump would simply beat him over the head with again and again and again.

Tough to debate with cliches and sound bites. In a one on one debate, my money is on the illegal Ted Cruz.

My money is on Cruz probably being more technically and legalistically correct in his statements. Trump would probably still wipe the floor with him in terms of public opinion, given the way the other debates have gone.
Regardless, "can we do it in Canada?" reduced my shop almost to tears laughing.
