Are you ready when disaster strikes?
Every person I know have different opinions of what is needed. we all know the basics of water, shelter and food. What other items would you consider valuable that you have or would purchase ? All I know is that yes, I'm prepared and at the top of my list are my guns and ammo! I carry at least one everywhere I go.

Actually, I have everything I need. Food. Water. Temp cooking appliance. Tent. Sleeping bags. Gun. Ammo. Ham radio. And the most important thing of all. Knowledge of how to take care of myself. Thanks to 20 years in Scouting and 5.5 years active duty (including a year of infantry school). It's nice to be prepared.

I am not ready. I am so far up north and 1500 miles away from my unit. I am away from Earthquake faults. My survival kit is 8 cans of Chef Boyardee Ravioli. If we had a real disaster, I would have to help the local Canadian Army.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell - We have a basement, some batteries and a short wave radio. We have it cold here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada so the Canadian FEMA would have to step in. We do have an infantry and engineer regiment north of the city that could help. We are on the high ground so flooding would not be a problem like it was in Calgary where they had 10 foot high flood waters demolish the downtown and cut the power to the highrises.http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/news/calgary-flooding/
