Well, GOP came into senate leadership promising to start governing, and has since shown just as much obstructionism as the house. If I were a Republican I'd be pissed too.

Fish, is it your belief that the majority of constituents in a voting district are progressive liberals? Should the representative take the position of the majority over the minority of their constituents while ensuring their vote is qualified under Article 1 Section 4? You do know that the people cannot vote away constitution rights, don't you? Only amendments can alter the US Constitution; it's written into it's limited powers.

And when bills are passed that violate those limited powers, it's up to the supreme court to abolish those laws, not sanctify them. Again, case law is not Constitutional Law and a scotus decision is not an Amendment to the US Constitution. Otherwise, cases which ended with the Brown decision would be the law of the land. I'm sure you would agree that the Brown decision was horrible. And if you agree to that, I'm sure you would agree that activists, left or right, are wrong for the court.

Cpl (Join to see) - I think liberals and conservatives are fairly evenly split, with lives a majority in urban areas and conservatives a majority in rural areas.

Cpl (Join to see) - As far as legislating for your individual state's constituents that goes to a point, refusing as leader to allow votes on the floor is obstructing the views of all Americans who disagree with your particular views and that in-American. The senate was not designed to be held hostage to one ideology or the other.

You mean like the bills that passed with bipartisan support which just sat on harry reid's desk? That's one man, a democrat, who decided an entire nation's direction on legislative process. Can you see the hypocrisy?

When I discovered my congressman had been in congress longer than I had been on the earth, I decided he had to be out of touch w/ the district!

I laughed at that headline. Yes.

I can only think of a few congressmen who I would say are "in touch," and none of them are from my home state of Indiana. Names like Tom Cotton and Trey Gowdy come to mind. (And one of them is a grunt. Coincidence?)
