Did you exactly 50 years ago today March 23, 1966. A terrible accident Happened. During the bomb recovery operations on March 23, 1966, a line used for towing broke loose, causing a pipe to strike Brashear's left leg below the knee, nearly shearing it off.[5] He was evacuated to Torrejon Air Base in Spain, then to the USAF Hospital at Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany; and finally to the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. SFC Jim Ruether That was a long time ago. But Thank You. That was back in the days we didn't even travel in uniform for fear we would get hassled. Vietnam was still fresh in everyone's mind. And Thank you for yours. Makes me smile thinking about diving equipment in 1976 as compared to now days. Worlds apart. We where lucky we didn't kill ourselves back then...LOL
