I was one of the first Naval Security Force personnel at NWS Seal Beach, Fallbrook Annex (Fallbrook, CA). Had to make frequent trips up to the "mother ship" at Seal Beach. Great news for the base. I remember during Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Desert Sweep, shipping ammo nearly 24 hours a day. We'd escort shipments up to Seal Beach for loading at the pier, escort to Tustin and El Toro for loading on planes and escort to Camp Pendleton for VertRep from the beach to ships waiting off shore. Was a busy time. Glad to see Seal Beach is still operating and getting a makeover.

If you pulled into Seal Beach before departing for WesPac you were always picking up special ammo.

Spent 3 years, 7 months and 11 days on the USS Permit (SSN 594) across the harbor at Pt Loma.

Well, most of it was at sea, but that was "home"...
