I find it very disconcerting, add this with "big data" and other projects computer can manipulate us easily. you wana see a real test gone bad with this look at Microsoft latest blunder is this arena.

SSG Ed Mikus Holy shitballs batman! Talk about escalating things quickly. That is very scary. I love how Microsoft is playing it off as "Tay just learned that from internet trolls" That is does not give me warm and fuzzy feelings. So in the future, my car may rundown an old woman because I make the mistake of saying "I hate snowbirds screwing up traffic in the morning" No thanks.

Spot on Steven. The problem is that we don't know what the AI will do once released. Sure, that bot may have learned that behavior from trolls, but the world is full of trolls and since we don't know how to code "humanity" into an AI it will do what it learns, and that could be bad, depending on its inputs.

So, while MSFT is playing it off, it is actually a very good use case for what can happen when we play in the AI sandbox without knowing what we are doing.

That being said, I am not opposed to AI. It is an inevitability. I think that it could be very helpful. Unless immature code is released, such as this bot, and it learns the wrong things and horrible unintended consequences occur.

We must be /very/ careful with AI going forward.
