I have read a couple of the translations ranging from awesome to awfully tough to read. By far, the best I have encountered is: ◾Strassler, Robert B, ed. The Landmark Thucydides: A Comprehensive Guide to the Peloponnesian War. New York: Free Press (1996). ISBN 0-684-82815-4. Strassler has also published Landmark Xenophon and Herodotus as well.
