Leadership is a Lifestyle. It is not a job. Management is a Job.

Agreed. My intent in the title and blog was to point out that many folks assume Leadership is a "job." You however, are 100 percent correct. The first mistake in leadership is looking at it as a job.

One piece of advice I gave to a young Lt., was listen to your NCO's, and take what they say, then decide on your plan of decision.

CSM Schroeder was Strike 7 when I was with 2/101 - once we returned from Iraq, he was selected to be Eagle 7. He is a hard charger, superb leader and more importantly - fair. I recall him not sugar coating anything - and that went for all ranks. Anyways - a friend from my days with Strike posted this yesterday and i thought it spoke volumes....volumes about the kind of person CSM Schroeder is and what leadership really is about.
