Are you feeling isolated? Stop! Get out. Get involved. Nothing is more rewarding than giving. If you don't have money, give yourself. Give your time. Just listening to a veteran in despair, with an urge to take a drink, or with suicidal thoughts, can save them. To be honest, I avoided veterans and veteran groups because I didn't feel worthy. I was trained to be an infantry officer and served in a support role. Well, hell, I can support again, can't I? So can you.

I concur whole heartedly. A good portion of the veteran suicides are committed by those who do not get help and are probably feeling disenfranchised.
