Yes SGT John " Mac " McConnell. The Nazis were supporters of Eugenics in its most despicable applications. They considered the "Aryan" Race to be the standard for humanity and other groups were considered sub human - Jews, Slavs, blacks, homosexuals; the retarded and mentally incapable.
Hitler's plan started with the least appreciate people - communists and retarded and mentally incapable' then went after Jews, homosexuals and when they started moving forces into eastern Europe they went after the Slavs.

I think we all to often forget that Jews were not the only population targeted by the Nazis in their attempt to create a "pure race". The horrible actions of the Nazis were felt by the Jewish, homosexual, gypsy, and others solely based on the ideas of what made the "perfect person".

Sadly, these ideas did not die with the Third Reich. I think we can all agree that we continue to see groups punished, held back, or other wise seen as unequal based on different ideas held by people. This behavior is nothing new. It is not reserved for older people. The behavior can sadly be seen in our children in the form of bullying. Though I would say the actions the Nazis will forever be the worst and most demonstrated examples of bullying the world will hopefully see but it was bullying nonetheless.

The story of Gert Schramm is a great example and reminder to everyone that while the Jewish population was probably targeted the hardest during the 1930s and 1940s in Germany resulting the lost of over 6 million lives, a total of 11 millions lives were cut short in the chamber, ovens, wood line, and streets of Europe during this time.
