Holy shtiballs Batman!!! SFC (Join to see) this story gave me chills. I so want to see this as a movie. Forget Saving Private Ryan, this truly has the potential to show the full range of human emotion. The fact that this battle had German's who loved their nation fighting German's who were Hitler's zealots by itself makes it a compelling story. We all need to buy a copy of the book, and en masse send it to Spielberg. Christoph Waltz needs to be in the movie. He can play the role of Major Gangl, or the leader of the Waffen SS as he has the range to be hero or villain. This must become a thing!

Sounds like a movie that would be worth seeing. Had two relatives that were member of the opposite side. One an SS conscript, the other a member of the Nazi SD.
