Two things:
#1 The draft is good for the nation when ever it needs people quickly (either it's 1K or 100K) it is a means to protect the Nation.
#2 In the name of Equality the Draft needs to be inclusive and not discriminate via sex or type of gender. Everyone with a Social Security Number should be included.

Does the House panel understand that there are women out there, between the ages of 18-26, that are not able to serve? Since obesity is a pandemic in the US, I would assume a lot of females are overweight and have medical issues stemming from them. There are others who have medical reasons that would disqualify them from the service, i.e. asthma. I think the House needs to re-evaluate this because evoking the draft for females may not be a good idea as it was thought to be.
Things like this are also found with the males too....since I don't have the numbers in front of me. I would assume females are move overweight/obese than males. Given, there are those who are in great health and physical condition but there are some who would prefer a big cheeseburger from Five Guys than a chicken salad.

SFC (Join to see) - That is true; my nephew is one of them; unable to train due to Asthma diagnosis in AIT. I understand trying to even out the numbers but I don't see the use of women in the draft unless it's basically saying "There will be no America tomorrow." or a sovereign county is on the edge of extinction.

Here's a question: If a woman's number is pulled in the Draft, and she's pregnant, would they just "skip" her or have her still perform a duty?

PO1 (Join to see) - I think you have missed the bigger picture of what has happened in women's rights. For years it has been asked for equal pay, equal opportunities, we can do anything a man can do, we can go into combat jobs, we can graduate ranger school and so on. Well now that these doors have been opened and that includes having to register for the draft like the men have been doing for years.

SFC (Join to see) - I have no problem with women be selected for the draft; it's the other females out there that will.

What a joke that Rep Hunter is. He introduced the bill with no intention of voting for it, but to make a statement. Then it passes without his vote. The republicans have been introducing bills just to posture for so long, they forgot that there is alway a chance someone will actually finally approve something. How stupid do you look when you introduce a bill to force something to happen that you don't want to happen, and it passes. SMH.
