I agree, schools are becoming overly sensitive to everything under the sun and then some. Bunch of panty waste liberal morons.

I do not believe this was the reason for the objections, but the one point I would make is this is an elementary school. Children aged 6-12 should not be asked to 'grow a pair'. Single parent and non-traditional families are reality. Perhaps the school should call the dance something different. I do believe that society as a whole needs to stop blaming others for their feelings, (no one can offend me unless I give them the authority to do so) but asking a child to be tough because of a situation they have no control over is not constructive.

SSG (Join to see) I wasn't talking about the kids growing a pair. I was talking about the School. I don't think they should have cancelled the dance because a few parents couldn't read a flyer. I did twice with my two daughters and loved it and think that every Father should have that memory. So Again...SCHOOLS. Grow a pair and tell the complaining parents to read the flyer and have the dance. Its a great time for both Father and Daughter

PO2 Mark Saffell - Either way, if a child between the ages of 6 and 12 comes from a non-traditional home, what is the harm in naming the dance so that they feel included? I agree the parents were wrong to ask for the dance to be canceled and the school was wrong to take the easy road and cancel the dance. But I do not think it is going too far to ask that a school activity be named so that young children do not have to wonder if they are invited.

SSG (Join to see) Again. No Harm. That's my point when I say this: parents to read the flyer. That's the point here. The flyer was inclusive but the parents complaining DIDNT read that or didn't understand that and ended up getting something good cancelled
