If a veteran has a service connected medical condition, we should not deny him or her the right to see any doctor they want. I believe they have earned that right. I am against denying our veterans their choice of access to health care.

The Koch brothers are over 80 years old and worth over $40B each! Why in the world would they be "scheming" about anything, let alone government bureaucracies "for their own benefit." They literally have nothing to gain other than a sense of fulfillment that they have helped reduce the burden on those who suffer from an inefficient government bureaucracy.

Th Koch brothers know how to run organizations efficiently and in a way that people are happy to work with, and they would probably want to bring that kind of efficiency to the VA, as opposed to the corrupt and unaccountable system we have now.

Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM - Yes, they provide a salary to approximately 5,000 veteran families. I don't happen to be employed by Koch Industries, but I'm sure those 5,000 veteran families are are grateful for it. For example, they run the Matador Cattle Company, which pays the salaries for countless ranchers and employees in Montana, Kansas, and Texas. They also run companies which help farmers. I'm guessing a fair amount of their employees are veterans, who would otherwise not have as many employment opportunities. Not to mention the hundreds of companies that they do business with, which may not be competitive if they weren't selling to Koch Industries. What really helps veterans are not handouts or public service announcements, but economic opportunities. The list of people who provide more economic opportunities to veterans in this country is relatively short.

Sgt Gus Laskaris - Their angle is that they believe in liberty and choice. Veterans shouldn't be limited to only using VA health care; they should have a choice. If one believes in liberty, one generally believe that giving people more freedom of choice in life leads to better outcomes for society. That has been a fundamental tenet of their initiatives for a very long time. At this point in their life, money is irrelevant. They could never spend half the money they already have. The legacy they leave is the influence they have on our democracy, freedom, and way of life.

MSgt Michael Bischoff - The one way a business can take care of others with no profit is if they go out of business, at which point would not only not help veterans, but they would have to lay off all the employees they currently employ. The only organization that can afford to operate for long without a profit is our government, since they can force people to pay them money and they can print their own money. That's just not how businesses work.

LTC Yinon Weiss - So what would be an acceptable profit margin for a business to take over the VA. Currently it cost over $12,000 per person (civilian $7500) it more expensive because of the nature of some of the disabilities.

So the business would have to charge an excess of $15000 per person to make a minuscule amount. Where would that extra money come from?

VA could be an insurer and allow vets to go wherever for care with referrals like civilian health care does.

Yes the VA is a broken system, but what can fix this monster. There is no business model out there.

MSgt Michael Bischoff - I think the profit is less important than the fact that veterans should not be denied care with their preferred physician. If a veteran wants to see a certain doctor, he should be allowed to. I don't understand why anybody would want to deny our veterans the option to see the same doctor that his neighbor sees.

As long as I can remember, vets have been mistreated and delayed. Furthermore, corruption is rampant and funds spent like drunken soldiers. This will not happen, but if it did, I'm not sure it couldn't be improved better management. Most negative comments will come from those that hate anything that has the Koch name on it because they contribute to Republican candidates. Good grief, Hillary? Put down the wine glass.

Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM - Sounds like an opinion. They do the same as any lobbyist on "K" street, D or R. If you know something, write it up for us to review. BTW, where does Hillary get her campaign contributions from? Shall we ask Bernie?
