Merlin helicopter takes out portaloo toilets

While at Camp Babylon, in Al Hillah Iraq we lived on the end of the pads where they landed the helos at. The aviation guys flare out over our huts and then land. We had this LtCol that thought he was somebody important. He proceeds to go over and tell the 1st Cav guys that they need to flare out somewhere else because it was very loud. For about a week strait they would come in hot and I mean fucking hot and flare out and pull a hover for about 10 seconds. Then sloooooowwwly make there way to the pad and land. Not so bad with a Blackhawk, but the Shithooks took out anything that was not bolted down and it happened about every hour of the day. Finally our CSM went over and begged them to stop. I believe there may have been some booze that changed hands as a peace offering.

For a week you did not want to be caught in the shitter. When you heard a helo coming you had about 4 seconds to shit, wipe, pull your pants up, and get the hell out or you were going to get smurfed.
